Beauty Shopping Haul

So as promised in my April Favourites post, here’s a look at what I bought on my recent shopping trip and it features some special offers.

The Body Shop Haul

The Body Shop often has discounts and offers, so I took advantage of their 30% off and the offer that if you spend over £10, you receive a free £14 Passion Fruit Body Butter. As I needed a few bits anyway, here’s what I got.

Elderflower Unperfumed Eye Gel

image

I’ve mentioned this eye gel quite a few times now as it’s amazing! I apply this gel underneath my eyes when I first wake up and it stops my eye area feeling puffy and sore. It’s such a cooling and soothing gel, I often reapply this through out the day.

Strawberry Hand Cleanse Gel

image

I’m not usually excited by hand gels, but this one sounded so nice, I had to buy it. Whilst it does smell strongly of alcohol when first used, the scent fades to a sweet strawberry scent after a while. I would say it does have a pretty artificial smell, but it’s much nicer than most hand gels.

Organic Cotton Pads

image

So usually I just buy any cotton pads, but to get my shopping basket up to £10, I bought two packs of these as I needed some anyway. Not the most exciting purchase, but an essential item for me.

Passion Fruit Body Butter

image

The freebie! I wasn’t too sure if I’d like the scent of this, but I absolutely love it! This Body Butter smells like a fruit smoothie and is by far the best smelling body moisturiser I’ve come across. I can’t wait to use this.

The Body Shop (Again)

Just days after ordering bits online, I went to The Body Shop in person to test out their bronzers. There was a three for two offer on, so here’s what I got.

Honey Bronze Bronzing Powder in shade 01

image

This bronzer is the reason I paid The Body Shop a visit, as I wanted to test the shades out. Unsurprisingly I ended up being the lightest shade 01. I bought this bronzer mainly to use for contouring and to add a subtle hint of colour across the rest of my face. If you’re fair skinned, the Honey Bronze range will be a dream for you, as the shades are the lightest I’ve come across. This bronzer also has a gorgeous honeycomb pattern, which ties in with it’s name.

Baked-To-Last Bronzer in the shade 02 Warm Glow

image

I didn’t intend to buy two bronzers, but this one is just gorgeous. As this is a bit more shimmery, I’ll pop this on my cheeks when I have a tan. This bronzer only comes in two colours, but for some reason shade 01 is the darker shade, whereas 02 is a lighter peachy bronze.

Lip & Cheek Stain in shade 037 Dusty Rose

image

Another freebie! I didn’t realise there was a three for two offer on in The Body Shop until I went to pay. As I had to make a fairly quick decision on my third item, I got this soft pink tint to use on my cheeks.

The Superdrug Haul

Superdrug also had some offers on, so here’s what I got.

Palmolive Chocolate Passion Shower Cream

image

Despite everyone else in my household hating the smell of chocolate shower washes, I love the scent of anything chocolatey. This shower cream smells good enough to eat and as it’s a new product, it’s on special offer at the moment.

GOSH Lumi Drops Highlighter in 002 Vanilla

image

I’ve heard loads about GOSH’s illuminating highlighter lately, but it’s been out of stock every time I tried to buy it. Finally I’ve got my hands on this liquid highlighter in the lightest shade Vanilla, which is a shimmery silver. The Lumi Drops also come in two darker shades.

Real Techniques Brush Cleansing Palette

image

I’m really bad at cleaning my makeup brushes often, partly because the cleansers I currently own don’t do a great job of cleaning them. Now I’ve got this cleansing tray, I’m hoping it will clean my brushes better and encourage me to do it more often.

EcoTools Six Piece Day-To-Night Set

image

I’m in serious need of some makeup brushes and as I can’t decide whether to splurge on an expensive set, I bought EcoTools six piece set for now. I own a few of their brushes already and enjoy using them, so I’m looking forward to trying these. I’ve also been keen to own a Fan Brush to apply my highlighter, so now I finally have one.

Real Techniques Miracle Complexion Sponge

image

The past few weeks I’ve been using a Real Techniques sponge to apply my makeup and I love how easily it blends my makeup, which is why I bought another two of these.

#NOFILTERNEEDED Makeup Bag

image

Another freebie! For any three makeup or beauty items purchased, including makeup brushes and sponges, this makeup bag was thrown in for free. My makeup bags are all looking a bit tired, so this is a useful free gift.

Boots Haul

As I had some free points on my Boots card, I got a few free goodies. Here’s what I got.

Sleek Highlighting Palette in Solstice

image

I’ve been lusting after this highlighting palette for quite some time, but it’s always been out of stock. When I saw that Boots sell this online, I snapped it up! I don’t actually need any more highlighters, but this set of four shades was just too pretty to resist. I particularly love the purple shade named Hemisphere.

NYX Butter Gloss in shade Peaches and Cream

image

I’ve been keen to try some of NYX’s Butter Glosses, so I ordered this pretty pink shade and it’s definitely a bolder colour than I was expecting. As there’s no NYX counters in any Boots near me, I had to take a chance by ordering online. Despite this gloss being a different colour to what I was expecting, it still looks like a nice shade for spring and summer.

NYX Matte Blotting Paper

image

I always carry blotting papers with me, as I get very shiny skin. I’ve never tried NYX’s ones, but they come in a small compact pouch, ideal for handbags.

Seventeen Angled Eyeliner Brush

image

Seventeen do very affordable brushes and this one is my favourite. I use this angled eyeliner brush to apply my brow gel, as it’s firm and easy to control when filling in my eyebrows.

Ojon Rare Blend Tamer Wand x2

image

I’ve been trying to get my hands on a new Ojon hair wand since January, as they’re always sold out! This Tamer Wand is shaped like a mascara brush and you simply use it to smooth any flyaways along your parting, or any frizzy areas of hair. I prefer this wand to carrying a serum, as it’s easy to use on the move and keeps hair in place.

Benefit Haul

Dandelion Wishes Set

image

I’ve been looking at trying some of Benefit’s products, such as the High Beam highlighter and the Dandelion blusher, so when I saw there’s a Dandelion gift set that has these and more, I snapped it up! This gift set is full of mini sized products, none of which I’ve tried before, so I’m really excited to try this set out. Benefit also have other boxes like this, such as a bronzing one and these are great to buy for yourself or as a gift for others.

They’re Real! Push-Up Liner

image

I’m always on the hunt for a new eyeliner, as I’ve yet to find one that I totally love. I’ve heard great things about this one and I love the quirky push-up style and pointed tip of this liner.

Makeup Addiction Cosmetics-Flaming Love Palette and Crease Blender Brush

image

image

I’ve wanted this eyeshadow palette for quite some time, but it’s always been sold out. The packaging is minimalist, but the colours drew me in. The gorgeous turquoise shade Belize, the purple Amethyst and the gold named Goldilocks are the shades I’m most excited about. I also received a free eyeshadow blending brush, which feels super soft.

Lush

Eau Roma Water

image

Lush do my absolute favourite face toner, which is their Tea Tree one, however, as the British weather is playing havoc with my skin, I’ve also purchased this one. Eau Roma is meant to be great for helping skin retain moisture, so I’ll be using this on the drier parts of my face.

Grounded

Peppermint and Chocolate Orange Lip Balms

image

I posted before about buying a Grounded coffee body scrub and these lip balms are by the same company. Peppermint and Chocolate Orange lip balms just sounded too good to resist, and even better is that Grounded do free worldwide shipping.

So that’s my Beauty Shopping Haul. Let me know if you’ve tried any of these products.

  4. Wow, lots of stuff! 😀
I’ve been curious about the Body Shop bronzer for a while now – people really seem to love it. Is there any honey smell? The lip & cheek stain must be new. I’ve not heard or seen that before. Love the packaging of it – looks really high end.
And OH MY GAWD, that Sleek highlight palette! 😮 I want that…
I’ve never heard of the brand Makeup Addiction Cosmetics – that palette looks stunning! Looks like the individual shades can be removed too? How much is that palette?

    1. I haven’t actually smelt it, but when I try it I’ll do a post☺ I think the tints are pretty new and there’s such a good range of colours. I’ve been wanting to try one of The Body Shops cheek products. I know I wanted the Sleek palette so bad and it’s beautiful☺ The Makeup Addiction palette was constantly sold out, so I was really excited to finally get it! I’ll have to check to see if shades can be removed and it cost £25 x
