Mini Beauty Haul

I did a quick stop off at Boots and Superdrug at the weekend, so here’s what I got.

Revlon Ultra HD Matte Lipcolor in the shade Devotion

I’ve seen Revlon’s gorgeous matte lipsticks mentioned loads and have been keen to give them a try, as all the shades are stunning. Now as I mentioned before, I hate matte lip products that are too dry, which is why I really didn’t get on well with NYX’s ones. The reason I purchased this Revlon one, is that many people have said it’s not too matte, it’s more of a creamy, non-drying formula. I know opinion is divided on this product as it’s not a proper matte, but that’s exactly the reason why I bought it.

Revlon Photoready Prime + Anti Shine Balm

YSL released a priming balm last year, but as it was limited edition, I never got around to purchasing it. When I saw that Revlon sell a similar product, I snapped it up. This priming balm can be used on skin before and after applying makeup, just like the YSL version. I already use a liquid primer before I apply my makeup, but I still need to blot and control shine throughout the day,so I purchased this to use on top of my makeup to control any excess oil.

Revlon Colorstay Foundation in the shade Ivory for Combination/Oily Skin

In Boots, Revlon had a three for two offer on, so I decided to pick up a new item to try. I haven’t worn a liquid foundation in well over two years, as I never found a colour to match my skin tone, or the foundations I tried would oxidise too dark or look greasy. However, I’ve seen so many people look truly flawless after applying liquid foundation with a makeup sponge, I knew I had to give liquid foundations another try.

Revlon do two types of their Colorstay foundation, but I chose the Combination/Oily formula, as I have combination skin. I got the lightest shade Ivory, as it’s a pink toned foundation and more suited to my cool toned skin, than the next shade up.

Rimmel Lasting Finish Lipstick in the shade 077 Asia

This lipstick has been on my to buy list for quite some time and I finally remembered to purchase it! I haven’t tried a Rimmel lipstick for quite some time, but I’ve seen lots of great reviews about this one and this particular shade. Asia is a pink with cool undertones of brown that’s different to any I already own. It’s often described as a darker nude, which is ideal for me, as lighter shades completely wash my skin out.

Barry M Molten Metal Nail Paints in Gold Digger, Silver Lining, Copper Mine and Bronze Bae

Barry M have just released their new summer range, which currently only seems to be half out and mostly sold in Superdrug. As soon as I saw the Molten Metal nail polishes online, I knew I had to buy some. As there was a buy one, get one half price offer on, I decided to buy all four shades as I couldn’t choose just two. These metallic polishes are just stunning and I really can’t wait to test them out. I’ll definitely be buying more of Barry M’s summer range when it’s fully released.

So that’s my Mini Beauty Haul all done. Let me know if you’ve tried any of these products.

  1. Fun haul! Those nail polishes look amazing – so metallic.
And I used to have Rimmel Asia – it’s a great pinky brown shade. I love Rimmel lipsticks – really comfortable to wear.

    1. Thank you☺ I’m really excited about trying the nail polishes. I haven’t tried a Rinmel lipstick for a long time, but I keep seeing this shade mentioned as being good for fair skin. X

  2. Great haul, I always love to see which beauty products people are picking up! The Barry M Molten Metal Nail Paints have especially caught my eye. Out of interest, which foundation did you use before trying this one? I’ve recently switched from mousse to liquid and I’m so pleased with the result. xx

    1. Thank you, I love to see what people buy too☺ I was really keen to get those nail polishes, they look really cool. At the moment I use Pur’s powder foundation which is really good. It’s just I haven’t tried a liquid foundation in so long, I decided to buy one and give it a chance. What foundation do you use? X

      1. I think that you just fall into a bit of a routine with picking up the same products sometimes, but it’s nice to try something new. 🙂 I’m currently using Maybelline’s Dream Satin foundation, I didn’t want to spend too much because I usually find it a bit difficult to work with liquid foundations, but I’ve been pleasantly surprised. xx

      2. It is nice to try some different bits out. Liquid foundations haven’t worked for me before, but I’m willing to try some new ones to see how I get on☺ That’s good. Do you prefer it to the mousse one you was using before? X

      3. I do, the problem with the mousse is that it had a tendency to sit on certain parts of your skin (e.g. around the eyebrows) more than others, so it didn’t always provide an even result but it was convenient (speed-wise). I’m much happier with the overall look of the liquid foundation though! Look forward to reading your thoughts on the products you bought, hope they work for you too. xx
