A Short Break in Birmingham Pt.3

On our third and final day, we packed up and checked out of our lovely hotel. Despite knowing we had a fun fuelled day ahead, I was still sad at the thought of leaving.

Once we’d packed everything into the car, we walked back to the shopping centre to eat another naughty breakfast at My Cookie Dough.

This time I opted for the sticky toffee and banana cookie with ice cream and my partner had the salted caramel cookie with ice cream.

Both were amazing and even better than our first visit.

Feeling full up and ready for the day, we climbed into the car and drove forty five minutes away to the West Midland Safari Park.

Like all UK safaris, there’s a drive through area and then the main park with the rest of the attractions that you walk around.

We started with the drive through safari, where I fed several greedy animals, including the deers.

Got up close to the camels and elephants.

Watched a rhino and it’s baby frolick around.

Before getting very close to the zebras.

Close enough to stroke one.

After an amazing time driving around, it was time to head to the main part of the safari park.

With fake snow everywhere, it felt like a winter wonderland.

We took in the natural beauty of the lake.

Watched curious meerkats.

Before looking at the bats, reptiles, penguins and finally, hippos.

Just as we was about to leave, we noticed a beautiful sunset behind the trees, which we stopped to admire.

We then climbed into the car, ready to head home.

On the way, we passed through Aylesbury in Buckinghamshire. Remembering a dessert place we wanted to try was in the area, we decided to have a pit stop.

Decorated with tonnes of Christmas lights, Aylesbury was a wonderful sight.

We walked into The Works, the dessert place we’d seen online and I ordered a banoffee sundae on top of a waffle and my partner had an Oreo sundae on a waffle.

Both were huge, but delicious and worth the visit. Although if I returned, I’d definitely share dessert!

Bellies full, it was time to head home after an amazing few days away.

  2. Omg no way!!! The drive through safari, how cool!!! Can’t believe how close the animals get to the car, like literally stinking its head in the vehicle, what an amazing experience that mustve been. Are they all out in the same open area? The rhino looks really cool. Were there any giraffes? lol Jeeze Birmingham is definitely a place to go for adventures! So cool.

    1. You’d love the UK safaris, the animals get so close to the car☺ The giraffes were indoors, too cold for them sadly. No there’s gates to separate the animals. So you wait for the electric gates to move and drive on through☺ Birmingham was a lot of fun☺ xx
