New Year’s Resolutions-February Update

After a positive start in January, here’s a look at how I got on in February with my ten New Year’s Resolutions.

1-Start to exercise more

I didn’t get to go to the gym or do much exercise in February due to late work finishes and a holiday. However, I’ve just started getting back into the habit of exercising.

2-Eat healthier

February wasn’t a great month for healthy eating. What with Valentine’s and Pancake Day, as well as eating out on holiday, I pretty much ate what I wanted. I’ve started to get back into a healthier eating pattern, so March should be a better month for me.

3-Read one book per month

A resolution that I’ve done well on! In February I finished two books, meaning I’m up-to-date with my aim to read one book per month. I read:

-Lonely Planet’s Best in Travel 2016

-Lonely Planet Iceland

4-Watch 50 films with my partner

In February we watched two films. They are:

-Eat Pray Love (DVD)

-Fifty Shades Darker (Cinema)

5-Getting into a better sleeping pattern

I had good and bad moments with my sleeping pattern last month. I think it’s something that will take the whole year to properly work on.

6-Do 2 new things per month

In February I did and saw a lot of new things on my holiday to Iceland.

I saw the Northern Lights for the first time.

I had a spa day at the Blue Lagoon.

I saw waterfalls.

And so much more. I’ll be doing a series of posts all about my holiday to Iceland soon.

7-Visit three new places (Country, City, Town or Village)

In February I visited Iceland for the first time and stayed in the capital city Reykjavik.

8-Start learning to drive

I haven’t started to learn to drive yet, but in the next couple of months I’m hoping to start lessons.

9-Use up what I have before buying more

I’ve done really well on this as I received a lot of makeup and bath bits for Christmas and Valentine’s Day. I also won a giveaway and did a product swap with the blogger Stashy, so I already have a lot to try out.

10-Take time to enjoy life’s simple pleasures

Despite a busy month, I did focus on being grateful for the small things in life. In Iceland I took time to appreciate the culture, nature and beauty that surrounded me.

Let me know how you’re getting on with your New Year’s Resolutions.

  1. The traveling experiences are my favorite things to check off a new years resolution list (or in my case my bucket list) Do you guys have any other traveling excursions lined up soon?

    1. Mine too. I love seeing how many places and things we’ve done😊 We go away on a UK break at Easter and we’re hoping to book a holiday this weekend for late May as we have a week off. We’re struggling to decide on a location though as our budget’s a bit less than usual, as we went Iceland. We’re looking at Venice, Milan & Como, Amsterdam or Austria. Or any suggestions? ☺ xx

      2. I’ve only been to Cyprus, which isn’t really Greece lol. But Greece is on our list😊 It’s not too far. Further than most of Europe to us but still not that far. Xx

    1. Haha I oddly quite enjoyed it. I preferred it to the first film but it’ll never win any awards for greatness😂 It was with you too! I am in love with the B&BW’s lip glosses you sent me. I’ve been using them as lip balms😊 Thank you. Hopefully start getting the Iceland posts up next week xx

  3. Even though you don’t think you made much progress with your eating and exercise you have the perfect excuse. Holidays are about enjoying yourself and it certainly sounds like you did that! Xx

  4. I just can’t wait for your Iceland posts hun, it sounds like you had the most amazing time. What did you think of the film Eat Pray Love?? I started watching it before but didn’t enjoy it, I really wanted to though! It’s also a book and apparantly the book is so much better so that’s definitely on my to read list! You could read it too as part of your 1 book per month goal 😀 Ps it feels like just yesterday I read your January version of this post… Where has the time gone!? Xx

    1. Aaw thanks hun. We had such a great time in Iceland😊 I didn’t really like the film. I thought she was travelling solo and finding herself, but it seemed more focused on friends along the way. I’d like to read the book though and it’d go towards my reading list☺ I know! February really flew by xx
