A Romantic Break Away at Brooklands

A few weeks ago, me and my partner booked a night away in a hotel. We’d both been working loads and a relaxing weekend together was just what we needed.

We drove to Brooklands Hotel in Surrey, where we’d stayed once before in a regular room, but this time we went all out and booked a suite!

On our way.

Brooklands is a fairly new hotel as it was only built in 2010 and is situated in an area perfect for car and vehicle lovers. Nearby is the Brooklands Motor Museum and Mercedes Benz World is just outside, which offers driving experiences along the racing tracks. Despite all of this, Brooklands is a relaxing and peaceful hotel.

Our gorgeous suite.

Our suite had it’s own doorbell and private hallway, which gave us total privacy and relaxation.

Then the first room that we entered was our bedroom, which was huge! We got complimentary bath robes and slippers, there was a Samsung tablet we could use and there was a door leading from our room onto our own private decking area.

We spent many an hour sunbathing and drinking Prosecco outside, as the weather was so lovely.

Back inside our suite, we had the most beautiful bathroom. There was a freestanding bath with a TV above it, rose petals and his and hers sinks.

To the back of the bathroom there was two small rooms, one with a shower and one with a toilet.

Then the next room on from the bathroom was a dining area.

Followed by a larger sitting room, with a super comfy seat, TV and goodies. We asked for chocolate covered strawberries, but the Prosecco and truffle chocolates were complimentary.

And finally, one more bathroom.

We’ve stayed in some beautiful places, but this has been our favourite.

We used the on-site gym, which we had to ourselves.

We sunbathed and relaxed some more.

Before driving to the town of Esher for dinner.

We ate at Giggling Squid for the first time, which is a chain restaurant that does Thai food.

We started with a veggie share platter which was delicious and filling. It had tofu, spring rolls, pakora and sweetcorn fritters with chilli dipping sauce.

Then for mains we both got a Thai red curry with rice and some noodles to share.

I was impressed with everything we tried, not only was the food flavoursome, but it tasted authentic too.

After dinner we drove back to our hotel, where I made the most of the freestanding bath.

Before catching up on TV and sleep, in the huge, cosy bed.

The next morning we started the day by sunbathing on our decking area, before going downstairs for breakfast.

Brooklands had a huge selection of fresh and tasty foods for breakfast. I started with different breads and cheeses, doughnuts and pastries.

Before getting beans on toast with hash browns.

My partner had the full English breakfast.

And we was both completely stuffed after!

We headed back up to our room, where my partner packed up our stuff and sunbathed, whilst I went to the on-site spa.

I had a manicure and pedicure with fresh grapes and I felt super relaxed.

I had the same nail polishes applied to both my hands and feet. Bubble Bath by OPI was the base and another OPI polish called Sunrise…Bedtime! was the glitter applied on top.

After an amazing stay at Brooklands it was time to check out. We drove back home for a Sunday meal with my partner’s family, vowing we’d be back at Brooklands soon.

  2. Those chairs on the deck looks super comfy! 🙂 What a gorgeous inviting room!
Whenever I stay in nice hotel rooms, I am tempted to not leave the room to sight-see, instead staying inside to take advantage! 😛
I’m such a sucker for hotel buffet breakfasts – I always load up on all the baked goodies!

    1. They were comfy for sunbathing. I didn’t think they looked it, so I was surprised☺ Haha the same for us. Usually we’re never in our hotel room much, so nice ones are wasted on us. This time we knew we’d be able to make the most of it😊 You pay for breakfast there, so I made sure to eat as much as I could😂 The food was so nice though. I try to have a cold food plate like pastries and then go back for hot food xx

  3. This place looks so lovely, exactly what I need for the next 6 months haha! I love Bubblebath by itself (and actually own it) but it looks lovely with that glitter on top 🙂 x

    1. Hahs it was so lovely. Wish I was back there too😊 The woman doing my nails suggested using Bubble Bath under the glitter so the glitter showed up more pink☺ Both are lovely nail polishes xx
