Collective Empties

In my last post I talked about my face mask empties and now here’s a look at some other products I’ve used up lately.

Lush Chocolate Lip Scrub

It’ll come as no surprise that I loved this product, as I often mention Lush’s lip scrubs are my favourites. This smelt good enough to eat and worked great.

Repurchase? Yes, definitely!

Dermalogica Daily Microfoliant

I got this Dermalogica powder scrub in a beauty advent calendar and I didn’t love it.

The design is unique, but messy. The powder smelt chemically, got up my nose and never helped exfoliate my skin as well as I’d hoped.

Repurchase? No.

Balance Me Wonder Eye Cream

This is another product I got in a beauty advent calendar at Christmas time. I liked the fact that this eye cream says it is 99% natural and was made in the UK, but it was a pretty basic eye cream.

Repurchase? No. It worked fine, but there’s better eye creams out there.

Smashbox Photo Finish Foundation Primer Light and The Body Shop Instablur Primer

The reason I’ve put these two face primers together is that I love them both! The Smashbox primer is a smooth, cream formula, whilst The Body Shop one is a silicone primer.

I alternated between the two of these as they both worked well for me.

Repurchase? Yes, I already have.

Co. Bigelow Vanillamint Supreme 2X Lip Shine

Fellow blogger Stashy sent me this lip balm and I loved it! Not only did it really nourish and hydrate my lips, but it left my mouth feeling fresh from the minty taste.

Repurchase? Yes! I need to buy another one of these soon.

Benefit Roller Lash Mascara

I’ve used this mascara before and it’s up there as one of my favourites. It gives me great length and volume with ease. My only gripe is that this particular tube seemed more like a waterproof mascara as it was a bit harder to remove then I remembered.

Repurchase? Not at the moment as I have another tube in my collection.

Soap & Glory Puffy Eye Attack Under-Eye Brightening Hydrogel Patches

I was pretty excited to try these under-eye patches, but they had no noticeable effects on me. I didn’t see any improvements with hydration or brightening under my eyes, which was disappointing.

Repurchase? No.

Innisfree Skin Clinic Masks in Vitamin C and Hyaluronic Acid

Me and my partner recently tried these Innisfree sheet masks out. He tried the Hyaluronic Acid one and I tried the Vitamin C mask.

The fit of this mask was awful for my partner, as it kept falling off his face! Mine fit my face slightly better but was a bit big.

Both masks were really wet with product and it was difficult to masssage the serum in after removing the masks, as there was so much of it. Neither of us had great results either. My partner’s skin was slightly more hydrated and my skin looked slightly brighter, but nothing spectacular.

Repurchase? No.

Sanctuary Purifying Charcoal Bubble Sheet Mask

This was a pretty interesting sheet mask to use, as it bubbles and foams up by itself once applied to your skin.

I really liked the uniqueness of this mask, but the results were disappointing. The mask is meant to help elimate dirt and oil, leaving skin clear and blemish free, but the next day I suffered breakouts.

Repurchase? No.

Ps…Halo Graphic Highlighter Stick

I bought this highlighting stick from Primark and it was just awful! The product itself was like a lumpy Pritt Stick Glue that was impossible to use.

Repurchase? Definitely not!

Foamous Fairy Berry Mousse de Parfum

I bought this foam perfume in Sephora, Italy. It’s another unique product but it just wasn’t practical to use.

The perfume sprays like a shower foam, meaning you have to be careful applying it. I also felt the scent smelt more like a body wash than a perfume and was too sickly sweet.

Repurchase? No.

So that’s all of my Empties. Let me know if you’ve tried any of these products.

    1. Smashbox is good for primers. This is my favourite as I get oilier skin, but they do ones for all different skin types. The Body Shop one performs similiar to the Smashbox one, they’re just different textures😊 x

  1. I love lush scrubs! I swear that company can do no wrong! That stinks about Dermologica. I have a spot treatment from them I love, but it is insanely pricey. There stuff can be hit or miss. Great reviews as always beauty! ❤

  2. The chocolate lip scrub sounds really lovely, as does the Vanillamint lip balm! Are lip scrubs rough on the lips? I’ve always wanted to try Roller Lash mascara but I can’t justify the price 😛 x

    1. The chocolate lip scrub smells so lovely😊 And I love the lip balm. They can be. Lush’s ones I don’t find too rough, as I’m not a fan of harsh scrubs. Haha well it is quite pricey. I bought a double pack of the mascaras at an airport so it wasn’t as expensive😊 x

      1. Haha no. I know some people like products that are rough and scrubby, but I like it where it’s not too harsh. That’s true. Some bits in the UK are expensive compared to other countries too, even easier to get items x

  3. So interesting! Lol at the face mask on your partner, it’s huge! Also that highlighting stick from primark looks terrible 😂 I’ve never used any of their makeup tbh but I’m deffo in no rush! I love Smashbox! I’ve not tried that particular primer yet but I got a free sample of one the other day, so I will be using soon! I used to love Rollerlash from Benefit but then I tried L’Oreals feline which is a dupe and found it so much better! Have you tried it? For half the price it’s amazing and cos one day I even wore one eye Rollerlash and one eye feline to see which lashes people preferred – everyone I asked said they preferred the one with feline on! X

    1. 😂 Masks literally never fit his face. I think it’s his beard, as the bottom part of a face mask hangs off his face! Haha yeah don’t rush to use their beauty bits. The highlighting stick was beyond bad. I like Smashbox too. I hope you like the sample you got😊 I can’t get on with L’Oreal mascaras. I’m a fan of their makeup but I tried two more of their mascaras this year and it gave me no length, volume, etc😔 I haven’t tried the feline one though, so I might have to give that one a try☺ x

  4. LOL @ that highlighting stick! It seems like it could be a dupe for one of those Milk Makeup products, but you’re right, it totally looks like a dried out glue stick instead.
Interesting, I’ve never seen that Chocolate lip scrub at Lush before. I’m almost finished with my current Lush lip scrub…maybe I need to keep my eye out for that one.

    1. Haha yes! I thought it looked like a Milk dupe but it was just plain awful. So lumpy and glue-like. It was a Easter release the lip scrub, but they said it was so popular it’s now a permanent item☺ xx

  5. Wow, did you EAT that tube of the CO Bigelow Vanillamint Supreme 2X Lip Shine?! 😆 I’m really glad you enjoyed it so much. I hope you can find it in your travels. Let me know if you want me to send you more!
That photo of you two with the sheet masks on is hilarious. It needs to be the wallpaper picture on your phone! 😛
Yikes on that Primark highlighting stick. I guess it’s hit and miss at that price point.

    1. 😂 I used it ages ago. I pretty much ate it. You know me, I keep a lip balm under my pillow😂😂 I really liked it. Thanks Stashy. I’m hoping soon I’ll be able to get some more tubes, you’ve got me addicted!😊 Haha I have a whole collection of photos of us in hilarious face masks. They should be my phone wallpaper. Oh yeah definitely. Although some beauty bits from Primark like masks are £3-4, so you can get other ones from Soap & Glory etc for cheaper. Their stuff is hit and miss x

  6. I am in love with lip scrubss.. I recently started my blog about self love and skincare and lifestyle and it would mean the world to me if you would just look at my blog thankyou for reading my comment and I have also reviewed Innisfree’s sheet mask ❤❤
