My 2019 New Year’s Resolutions

For 2019 I’ve given myself more resolutions to achieve than last year. Some are the same as I want to continue to make progress with certain resolutions, some need more work and some are brand new. So here’s a look at my goals for the year ahead.

1-Eat Healthy & Exercise

I kept this resolution as I made so much progress last year. 2018 was the first year where I really kept-up regular exercise and healthy eating and therefore I lost over two stone.

This year I want to carry on eating healthily and to exercise at least three times a week.

2-Read More

Last year my aim was to read one book per month, so twelve for the year at least. In the end I managed ten, which was better than the year before.

My target is one book a month but I’m hoping to read more than twelve this year. I’d like to find time to read at least fifteen books.

3- Do 2 New Things Per Month

This is one of my favourite resolutions, as no matter how big or small the new thing is, it counts. Whether you cooked a new meal, ate at a new restaurant or travelled to a different country, these are all new things. I like to look back and see what I did throughout the year.

4-Travel/Go For Days Out

Last year I specifically set myself a target of visiting three new cities and three new countries, but this year I just want to travel. It can be new locations or places I’ve been before, as we love to revisit destinations we enjoy.

I also want to go for more days out. Whether it’s a day by the seaside, an outdoor cinema event or a day exploring London, I want lots of nice experiences to look back on.

5- Save Money

Over Christmas me and my partner spent a lot of money, so I want us to both start saving and focus on only spending money on things we want and need.

We’ve been viewing flats recently, so we hope to move in the next couple of months and we’re saving for that. It’s also my 30th birthday this year, so I’d like us to save hard for that.

6- Use My Phone Less

Like a lot of people, I use my phone far too much. I find that I procrastinate and spend a lot of time scrolling through social media, when I could be using my time more productively.

Blogging on my phone or looking up flats/days out is fine as it’s being productive, but I don’t need to check my social media as often. I will still check daily, but I want to use my time to read or blog more instead.

Let me know what your New Year’s Resolutions are.

  1. Great goals! I agree with you on your last resolution which is part of the reason I want blogging to take a little bit more of a back seat this year, I don’t want every day off to be stressing to get posts written for the week ahead. Have you got anything planned for your 30th birthday this year? xx

    1. Thanks hun. It’s definitely easy to spend too much time on your phone. I feel like when I’m on the train to work, it’s okay to check my social medias etc if I’m standing and have nothing else to do, but if I’m sitting for example, I should use that time more wisely to read. I feel you. Blogging is productive but I felt stressed trying to get certain blogs up for December. It’s good not to over pressure yourself. Not yet😊 I’d like to go away somewhere nice on holiday, somewhere warm x

      1. I don’t spend as much time as some people and I tend to look at social media at certain times during the day which helps 🙂 I know you’ll find somewhere nice to go for your birthday x

  2. Great stuff! Exercising is so important. I’m working out at home, and it’s great. I started out with a 10 minute workout for beginners, and now I’m doing a proper 30 minute workout 5 mornings a week (I skip 1 weekday and 1 weekend day). I feel much better and stronger compared to a year ago.

And I think you can easily combine reading more and using your phone less! xoxo

    1. Well done, you’ve done really well😊 I started slowly and found over time I could exercise for longer and felt fitter. Yes I hope so! Today I read on the train home and checked social media less, so it’s a start😊 x

  3. You have some nice and realistic resolutions here Friend. I hope 2019 has been treating you well so far. I am certain that you can achieve all that you have set out to achieve this 2019, and so much more. Knowing God and building a relationship with him is key to triumphing in life. A person who has God, has everything. The reason for this is because, God knows everything. God knows the best person that you should marry, he knows the best job that would suit you, the best exercise that would help your weight, etc. God knows everything, because he is God. When we walk under the guidance of the Lord, we walk in the light, and we make decisions that are right for us. God is such an awesome source of knowledge, guidance, support, love, and blessings. This 2019 can be a special year for all of us. However, we need to involve God, because with God nothing is impossible. Prayers to God and faith in him are useful ways to invite his presence.

May God’s blessings be with you sister, Amen. ❤ ❤
