New York Shopping Haul

At Christmas I spent a week in the Big Apple aka New York! Whilst I’ve tried to become more minimalist over the past year and buy less, I knew that I’d buy myself at least a few treats while I was away.

I didn’t go quite as crazy as last time when I needed to buy an extra suitcase for the way home, but I did hit up Sephora and Bath & Body Works. So here’s a look at what I got.

From Bryant Park Christmas Market

Dachshund Socks

I couldn’t resist these adorable dachshund/sausage dog socks, as they’re one of my favourite breeds of dog.

Gel Candle

There was a lovely candle stall selling beautifully decorated and wonderful smelling gel candles. We chose this small sized, beach themed candle.

Christmas Decoration

Often when me and my partner travel we buy different keepsakes such as baubles/tree decorations. We already have a US flag bauble from our trip to New York two years ago, but we couldn’t resist this pretty NYC one.

Sephora

Sephora Face, Hand and Foot Masks

Invisibobble Hair Ties, Living Proof De-Frizzer and Drybar Mr. Incredible Leave-In Conditioner

Invisibobbles are my go-to hair bands, whilst Mr. Incredible lived up to it’s name the last time I bought it in New York. It’s a brilliant leave-in conditioner that really helps the overall condition of your hair.

As my hair was frizzy and difficult last month, I also bought the Living Proof De-Frizzer to use during the day on dry hair.

Sephora Face Masks, It Cosmetics CC Cream, Stila Magnificent Metals in Kitten Karma & Fenty Beauty Glossy Posse Set

I stocked up on two Sephora masks, an IT Cosmetics CC Cream which I’ve heard lots of great things about and a Stila Magnificent Metals eyeshadow in Kitten Karma, although I’ve since noticed it’s been packaged wrong!

Kitten Karma is a gold toned shadow, yet I received the shade Sea Siren which I already have. The packaging and tube in the box were packaged wrong, so that’s a bit frustrating! I also bought a Fenty Beauty Glossy Posse lipgloss set, which I’m so excited about.

Bath & Bath Body Works

I was keen to go Bath & Body Works but we didn’t get to go until Boxing Day which was a stroke of luck, as most (Christmas/Winter) products had 75% off!

I stocked up on C.O. Bigelow lip products (full priced), lots of shower gels, bubble baths, bath salts, body creams and a hand cream. I also got a cosy pair of socks and two candles, all in the sale.

Let me know your favourite items.

  1. Ahhh girl you got such amazing products! Shalant candles are my favorite, and a go to gift! I also love that they re reusable, so even once the gel burns, you can put a votive in it, and still use it. The beach ones are of course my fav! 🙂 Also having serious nostalgia as I always buy an ornament at Bryant Park. You got such a great haul at Sephora! I got those invisible ties in the Advent Calendar I did, and I am obsessed with them! I am so glad you had such a fun time! ❤

      1. Fair I think, I tend to go for the lightest or almost lighter shades. I have cool toned skin. Yes! We love tree decorations. We have cute ones from different countries, so our tree is full of personal decorations from our trips😊 x

  3. Oooohh what a great haul! I love the little New York tree decoration, it’s really cute. 😊All the Bath and Bodyworks products look amazing and at such a huge discount too! I definitely would’ve gone overboard in there haha. 😅 Also I can’t believe the Stila product was packaged wrong, that must’ve been so annoying! 🙄

    1. Thank you😊 It is such a cute decoration, I love buying ones on our travels. I know! I could have bought even more, as a £24 candle is like £10 etc😊 Was so happy! I know! The box and the eyeshadow tube itself both had the wrong labels so they really messed up🙈 z

  4. Omg I can’t believe you had to buy an extra suitcase last time, that’s so funny haha!!! I could easily do the same though, there is so much to buy in New York!!

Love the tree decoration and that Fenty Beauty packaging is so pretty!! That candle is beautiful too 😍😍😍

Such a shame about the Stila product 😦 how annoying but hey… everything for a reason right? At least you’ve got those cute dachshund socks to cheer you up 😍

    1. 😂 I know! Imagine buying so much you need to buy a big suitcase too😂 I know I love everything, really can’t wait to use the Fenty lipglosses😍 The Stila was disappointing, it’s not a shade I love but I’ll still use it xx

  5. I love sausage dogs, too! Both pairs of socks you picked out are so cute. I had never seen a gel candle before! That looks so cool & the NY ornament is just the perfect souvenir. 😊

How annoying about the Stila eyeshadow being packaged wrong. Is there no way for you to get the right one now that you’re back home?! I so wanted that Fenty gloss pack, too!

    1. Sausage dogs are adorable😁 I only just realised I bought a cat and a dog pair! I really like gel candles. Once they burn out, you can keep the candle holder and put other candles in it😁 I can buy Stila in the UK but I’m just too stingy to spend more money🙈 I will buy it in the future but it’s so annoying they put in a shade I don’t even like. I haven’t used it yet but it looks amazing😍 x

      1. They really are! My boyfriend doesn’t like them because he said he feels bad about their back problems lol, they are darn cute, though.

I really need to see if I can fin a gel candle. They are gorgeous & super cool they are reusable as well. 🙂

Could you not exchange the Stila for free? Since they are the ones who messed up?!
