Girls’ Day Out in London

Last week me and Jenny finally got to go for a long awaited girls’ day out! We’d planned to meet earlier in the year but with Coronavirus it wasn’t possible until recently.

So here’s a look at our day out.

We started our day with one of my favourite summer activities in the city, a boat ride! We did a 40 minute ride down the Thames and we honestly wished we’d done longer as it went so fast!

The perfect activity on a sunny day!

After our boat ride we wandered around Tower Pier and found a small area of beach. Granted I don’t know if it can technically be called a beach but it was so quiet and peaceful there with a salty smell in the air. We almost convinced ourselves we were by the sea!

After our time by the water, we decided to head to the train station and go to Covent Garden which has shops and street entertainment. We watched the funniest tightrope walker who was unintentionally hilarious as he kept being rude to the crowd.

Covent Garden.

As it reached dinnertime we made our way to Honest Burgers, a place we’d both not eaten at before.

The Beyond Burger with all the toppings and chips was nice enough but not outstanding. Whilst I wouldn’t rush back it’s good to see pretty much every restaurant offering a vegan option now.

To end our evening we went for drinks at Jin Bo Law, a modern rooftop bar in Aldgate.

The cocktails were amazing as were the views as you could see the Shard, Tower Bridge and the Gherkin building.

The music was great and the atmosphere was buzzing yet relaxed. I can definitely recommend a visit to Jin Bo Law as I’d love to return soon!

So that was our girls’ day out! We had a lot of fun and the weather was absolutely perfect making the day even better.

Have you been to any of the places we visited on our day out?

  1. What a great day! I used to work in a couple of offices right at that location 🙂 The shot you took by Blackfriars used to be in my daily lunchtime walk 😅 Glad you had a wonderful day!
