New Year’s Resolutions-January Update

For 2018, I set myself less resolutions as I’m not too sure where the year will lead. I’ll be changing jobs, potentially moving, etc, so it seemed easier to not go too crazy.

So here’s a look at how I got on in January:

1-Eat healthier and exercise

In January I did possibly the best I’ve ever done! I hit the gym 2-3 times per week and made lots of healthy home cooked meals. I still had some treats but I definitely achieved this resolution!

2-Read more

I sadly didn’t read any ‘proper’ books in January, but I read two travel books. As they’re similar, I’m classing it as one book read last month.

-Lonely Planet Belgium & Luxembourg

-Lonely Planet Pocket Bruges & Brussels

3-Do 2 new things per month

Despite January being a quieter month for me, I did a couple of new things.

I ate at Mooshies (Vegan Burger Bar).

And also tried doughnuts from Dum Dums Donutterie.

4-Visit three NEW countries and three NEW cities (Any new towns and villages, or extra cities/countries are a bonus)

I visited no new cities, towns, villages or countries in January as I wanted a quieter month after travelling most of December.

5-Use up what I have before buying more

Resolution achieved. I didn’t buy anything in January, nor was I tempted as I have a lot of things to use from Christmas, gifts from my partner for our anniversary etc. I focused on using up what I already have.

Bonus Round

My bonus resolution was to have more ‘me time’, which I managed in January. I had more pampering sessions at home and long bubble baths. I watched more TV, cooked at home, went to the gym. I did more things for me and had a quieter month.

Let me know how you’re getting on with your New Year’s Resolutions.

  1. Love your resolution update. I myself rather didn’t make resolutions other than love myself and don’t spend on products I already have so posts like this wouldn’t turn to hall of shame for me😅

  2. Congrats on doing so well with eating healthier and exercising! It’s a habit that becomes easier and easier – and eventually just a routine.
Wow those Dum Dums Donutterie donuts look like works of art.
Also well done for not buying anything new in January! 🙂
    Keep it up!

  3. the quieter month sounded just as perfect as the busy month of December. Lovely to read that you have achieved most of your goals, especially the eating well and hitting the gym. I am motivated by your achievements. Well done!
