On our last day in Belgium, we headed back to Bruges. Whilst we was still staying in Ghent, we couldn’t resist one final trip to one of our favourite cities.
The first thing we did upon arrival, was visit Oyya.
I’ve mentioned in a previous post that Oyya does the best waffles, so I couldn’t wait to have another and it didn’t disappoint.
After another delicious waffle, we let ourselves get lost.
We started by the Belfry, then walked streets we’d never seen.
I didn’t take many photos, I just enjoyed seeing new sights, the houses and the local people. We soaked up the atmosphere of Bruges, whilst there was few tourists around.
After exploring we stopped off at another place we love, De Proeverie Tea-Room.
De Proeverie is famous for it’s hot chocolate, which consists of hot milk and fresh chocolate that you stir in yourself.
They also do amazing scones.
After our afternoon tea, we visited some chocolate shops.
Took some more photos of the beautiful Belfry.
Then headed to the Choco-Story Museum.
Whilst we only had a short amount of time to see the museum, we did visit Choco-Story properly way back in 2014.
Inside the museum you can learn about the history of chocolate, see chocolate sculptures and also watch truffles being made.
Chocolate sculptures.
The Michelangelo Madonna and Child sculpture made from chocolate.
A chocolate making demonstration.
After a fun time learning about the history of chocolate, we went for dinner at the Marco Polo Noodlebar.
All of the food was freshly prepared and cooked in front of us and it tasted amazing.
Our starters; kimchi and spring rolls.
My delicious main; a tofu noodle soup.
And my partner’s tofu noodle wok.
After a lovely day out, we caught the train back to Ghent, ready to pack our bags for the journey home in the morning.
My, everything looks wonderful! The Lady & the Tramp! ❤
Mmm I should probably never go to Belgium. I'd eat all the waffles.

I wonder if the chocolate is preserved so the statues don’t go off x

The Michelangelo chocolate was there on our last visit 4 years ago, so I think they must add preservatives x

I love that you just let yourself get lost and go with the flow. That’s the kind of thing I’d love to do but Ben is obsessed with having a itinary all the time – when ever I suggest just going where the day takes us he’s not down with it!
Aww the Lady and the Tramp made of of Chocolate is so sweet!
The restaurant at the end looks like such nice authentic food! I love kimchi!

😂 A bit like my partner. He likes a very basic itinerary, but I tell him we have to book some stuff in advance😂 It was nice to not have a plan in Bruges. We knew we wanted another waffle and hot chocolate but that was as much as we planned. The Lady and the Tramp was so cute💕 I really liked the restaurant as you could see it all be made fresh and it tasted great😊 x
