New Year’s Resolutions-April Update

April was a bit of a stressful month as I worked a lot of overtime, had a tonne of things to buy and plan for my trip to Asia and me and my partner viewed properties with the hope of moving soon. That said there was still some lovely moments and I feel I did well with my resolutions. So here’s a look at how I got on.

1-Eat Healthy & Exercise

Tick and tick! Over Easter I allowed myself some chocolate and a few treats, but the rest of the month I ate healthily.

After having my eyebrows microbladed, I couldn’t exercise for two weeks. In place of heavy physical sports, I went for a walk everyday to get my exercise in and to keep fit.

2-Read More

I read:

-Lonely Planet Borneo

Would I recommend this book? Yes.

-Happy by Ferne Cotton

I’m not a fan of self-help books or ones offering advice, but I really enjoyed this personal, non-preachy book by Ferne. It focuses on different areas of your life and things that can make you unhappy and how to turn it around and think positively. There’s also exercises throughout the book where you can write down your feelings, things you’re grateful for and much more.

Would I recommend this book? Yes.

3-Do 2 New Things Per Month

Done! In April I did these things for the first time:

-I tried food from Love Is Churros, Omkara and Mocky-D at Vegan Nights.

-Had my eyebrows microbladed.

-Tried some yummy food whilst we was away for Easter.

-I made a Swahili curry (but deleted the picture, oops).

4-Travel/Go For Days Out

For Easter I went on a short break to Caister-on-Sea with my family and partner.

5-Save Money

In April I didn’t do terrible. I spent money over Easter and I started to book accomodation and other bits for Thailand and Borneo, as well as treating myself to some new clothes, but I tried to rein it in and buy only essentials.

6-Use My Phone Less

I didn’t do great with this one. I spent time freshening up my blog and Instagram pages and I just found myself enjoying flicking through people’s pages. I also used my phone a lot for planning travel.

So that’s how I did in April. Let me know how you’re getting on with your New Year’s Resolutions.

  1. Great job Lady! It looks like you are doing a great job with sticking to your New Year Resolutions! It is hard to believe that we are nearly halfway through the year. Your brows look gorgeous and it is great that you were still active even though you couldn’t go to the gym. I was so proud of consistently working out in the gym for 5 months, but have been traveling and am doing youtube pilates, yoga, and body weight + walks.
